CEA Project Logistics Thailand were recently contracted for the transportation and export of a Hydrasports custom fishing boat.

The boat was transported under CEA escort from the Ao-Po Grand Marina Shipyard in Phuket to the A5 (RORO) Terminal at the Laem Chabang Port in Chonburi, where it was readied for export to Piraeus, Greece. CEA provided a prime mover, low-bed trailer, mobile crane and two escort vehicles for the project.

Before the journey began, the CEA teams removed eight wheels from the boat's support trailer in order to lower the overall height and ensure a safe transportation. The boat dimensions with the trailer when fully loaded were 18 x 4 x 4.3m with a gross weight of 13tns. The two CEA escort vehicles were in attendance throughout the two-day 994km journey to maximise safety on the route for other vehicles and to foresee any possible obstructions. In the project's planning stages, CEA submitted a detailed route survey to the client for approval.

Upon arrival at Laem Chabang Port, the boat trailer wheels were reattached and the mobile crane lifted the boat and its trailer from the low-bed to wharf-side. When the CEA teams were satisfied with all the final checks, the boat and trailer were loaded onto the waiting RORO vessel destined for Greece. Please click below for photos.
