CEA Projects have been valued members of Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos and are pleased to report they have now added their Vietnam office (Ho Chi Minh City). The company are one of the leading providers of project logistics services throughout the ASEAN region, specialising in industrial cargo. The CEA teams provide the experience and high-quality, customised services required for project cargo and heavy lift, working closely with customers and partners to ensure every project is properly planned and executed to the highest standard.

Director at CEA Projects Vietnam, Brett Malcolm has been working in the country for 17 years - firstly for BP on an onshore/offshore pipeline, then with Schenker for 9 years establishing their project capabilities in Vietnam and completing mostly power projects with internationally known companies and lastly for an Australian transport company carrying out mining operations in Laos through Vietnam and Thailand. This experience has given Brett an extensive knowledge of the project market and conditions in Vietnam as well as strong, established relationships.

Brett states; "Vietnam's logistics infrastructure is already on a level with Thailand - a level which could soon be surpassed as Vietnam is more accommodating to foreign companies and investment than its ASEAN neighbour. The country's geographical location makes it particularly advantageous with a coastline stretching for 3,200km allowing access to the world's major seaborne trade routes. CEA's blueprint for success in Asia has already been proven, with our Myanmar, Thailand and Laos operations expanding exponentially, we at CEA hope to replicate similar success in Vietnam.

We are paying particular attention to the Bà Ria-Vung Tàu Province of Vietnam which is the fastest growing province in the country and home to all the oil and gas interests in Vietnam. There is also very large investment taking place in the province as it has become the industrial base of South Vietnam with large scale industrial parks being established and much of the port infrastructure moving into the province from Ho Chi Minh City. The province is also home to a 7-billion USD petrochemical plant to be built in 2017 plus the oil refinery to follow."

"Through our existing membership, I understand the quality that PCN provides as a network and this is the reason for Vietnam to become a part as well. We look forward to concentrating on the development of our project opportunities with PCN in Vietnam."

Photographed in the gallery below is a project handled by CEA involving the cross-border movement of structural steel pieces from Thailand to Vietnam. CEA also performed the lifting operations in Laos, where the goods were transshipped from Thai trucks to Vietnamese trucks.
